Purpose/Scope:
The Quality Assurance Manager manages the Quality Assurance Department, performs and documents research and development projects, troubleshooting of product problems, documents production and quality assurance procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Formulates and documents procedures and standards
- Supervises and coordinates quality assurance personnel responsibilities
- Hires quality assurance inspectors
- Trains the Quality Assurance Inspectors
- Develops and maintains employee development programs that achieve the individuals’ potential and added value to the organization
- Performs and documents research and development projects
- Performs troubleshooting tests to improve the quality of the product
- Responsible for monthly and weekly metric output and continuous improvement activities
- Ability to interact/communicate with all levels within organization as well as customers and suppliers – both written and verbally.
- Proficient in Root Cause Analysis methods and data analysis
- Implementing quality initiatives and incorporating them into plant goals/objectives
- May additionally act as the Management Representative if assigned by the Director of Quality
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ten (10) plus years of Quality Assurance Management experience
- College Degree required
- Must be committed to safety, customer satisfaction, first time quality and efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ certifications
- Knowledgeable in Process Control/Process Capability/Lean-Six Sigma Methodologies
- Strong problem solving and statistical data analysis capabilities
- Proficient Blueprint reading
- Certified in Level I with the American Concrete Institute, and in Level III with the Precast Concrete Institute.
- NPCA Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up tp 60 pounds
- Must be able to climb up and down while moving equipment
Work Environment:
- Plant environment that requires the QA Manager to work both inside and outside.
