Maintenance Manager – Grove City, OH (6.11.13)

Purpose/Scope:

The Maintenance Manager is to provide support to production and/or facility needs at Fabcon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to production and/or facility needs at Fabcon
  • Organize work orders and PM’s, coordinate and distribute workloads and follow up
  • Source vendors and parts, to provide department with the ways and means of performing duties in the most efficient way possible.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance staff and upper management
  • Help trouble shoot and diagnose problems and breakdowns, advise the most efficient and cost effective repair possible
  • Research and organize projects, coordinate with corporate Plant Engineering and Plant Manager
  • Keep track of inventories and supplies
  • Scheduling of department
  • Budget for capital expenditures
  • Provide department with options on further education
  • Help support on-call situations
  • Ability to solve problems to complex issues and find resolutions within a timely basis
  • Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies
  • Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issues identified as potential risks/opportunities to improve plant performance
  • Proactively engage in the development and training of hourly labor
  • Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures
  • Prioritize shift work, while properly assigning shift resources for optimal performance
  • Responsible for ensuring that maintenance work is done in accordance to company safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) or more years as a maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment with proven leadership abilities
  • Thorough understanding of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, conveyer and auger systems, air systems, water systems, overhead cranes and wheeled vehicles
  • Must be able to read blue prints and schematics
  • Strong problem solving and  troubleshooting skills, able to drive to root analysis
  • Shift flexibility is required as this role will be supporting a 24/7 operation
  • Proficient with computer (MS Office Suite)
  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Experience with Production/Maintenance reporting systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Five (5) or more years as a maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment with proven leadership abilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to get up and down from catwalks and bed

Work Environment:

  • Plant/production environment
