Purpose/Scope:
Prepare accurate and on-time estimates for prospective and signed jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and structural information for estimating purposes
- Start new prospect file and enter information into the AS400 company data base
- Clarify/coordinate information with sales , field, project management, engineering, and production when needed
- Do quantity take-off and estimate projects
- Attend meetings as required
- Update information in the CRM/IFS database
- Estimate additional cost throughout the project and distribute to the appropriate departments
- Create basic drawings for estimating purposes when needed
- Continuing education as directed by Director of Estimating
- Special projects assigned by Director of Estimating
- Undertake training regarding estimating system, as well as the overall function and purpose of the company
- Committed to safety, customer satisfaction, first time quality and efficiency
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Quick to learn new procedures
- High scanning accuracy and high mathematical aptitude
- Well organized and detail orientated
- Able to work with others
- Able to concentrate on any given task
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to read and comprehend construction documents and drawings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of a two (2) year degree in Estimating, Architecture, or Project/Construction management, or equivalent experience
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to twenty pounds
Work Environment:
- Work in office environment
- Able to visit plant, yard and job sites
