Purpose/Scope:
Apply Engineering knowledge to maintain the optimal infrastructure of a Fabcon manufacturing plant by minimizing equipment downtime, ensuring equipment is maintained in original working conditions and managing physical changes to the plant to facilitate Lean initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure plant infrastructure is capable of being operated and maintained in a safe manner at all times.
· Ensure the complete use of Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) tools
· Ensure Automation equipment is maintained in optimal condition and is used to its full capability.
· Establish priorities for the Maintenance Department that are focused on Reliability-centered Maintenance
(RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and asset management principles.
· Manage Maintenance activities for the purpose of minimizing downtime while driving toward the lowest overall
cost of asset management
· Design maintenance protocols that maximize the use of operator’s maintenance and minimize the need for
equipment downtime
· Develop, track and monitor equipment based KPIs.
· Use Lean knowledge to recommend and implement infrastructure changes which will result in better quality,
quicker throughput, lower costs and improved safety.
· Use Statistical Process Control to assess equipment performance and maintenance methods for effectiveness
· Manage the installation and implementation of Capital Equipment on time and under budget.
· Budget for and maintain a master Capital Improvement and Maintenance plan for the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
· Five years of experience in manufacturing
· Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
· Strong project management experience
· Strong mechanical knowledge and spatial relations aptitude
· Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing programs
. Must be committed to safety, customer satisfaction, first time quality and efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Capital purchasing and/or installation
· Experience with CMMS platforms (IFS, Micromain, Bigfoot, etc.)
· Strong leadership ability
· Experience with managing staff and working in collaborative team environment
· Knowledge of Industrial Automation
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Must be able to climb up and down moving equipment
