Purpose/Scope: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of casting, set-up and stripping crews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with managing production activities in a fast paced, multi-shift fabrication environment

Responsible for daily, weekly and or monthly paper work and documentation
-
Coordinate responsibilities with Plant Manager, Production Manager and other supervisors
-
Responsible for managing production employees’ performance
-
Responsible for employee relations
-
Work with Quality Assurance Manager in mix designs
-
Responsible for maintaining OSHA standards, with safety being our number one priority
-
Responsible for the operation of equipment
-
Work with Maintenance to assure that preventative maintenance is completed by those responsible, and that anything down is repaired as soon as possible

Learn production layout and reading of cast books
-
Keep plant and facility safe and clean
-
Work to maintain positive labor variance
-
Analyze production processes and identify cost reduction/continuous improvement opportunities for
-
improving efficiency, quality, safety and maintenance
-
Must model and promote a respectful, positive, forward moving environment
-
Work closely with Engineering, Materials, Quality and Human Resources to facilitate a collaborative environment
-
Routine application of Lean and Six Sigma principles
-
Help Establish objectives for Kaizen events/projects and lead occasional events
-
Work with corporate resources to make sure the appropriate strategy, tools and training materials are being used
-
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read blueprints
- Must be able to learn all operational processes
- Computer skills
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse audience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four plus years of supervisory experience in a production environment
- College degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.
- Must be able to be flexible with hours worked as needed
- Ability to walk up and down catwalks, climb ladders and walk on equipment
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
