Precast concrete technology is constantly changing. Improvements to concrete’s chemical make-up and design possibilities are always on the horizon, making the concrete industry a really exciting one to be involved in!

Case in point: 3D printed concrete castles. Yep, it happened! According to 3Dprint.com, a contractor named Andrey Rudenko has officially created the first ever completely 3D printed structure: a backyard castle.

Rudenko’s machine 3D prints concrete by putting down 10-milimeter-high layers of concrete. As you can imagine, the process takes a while! However, you don’t actually see any of the layers – the surface appears to be one smooth wall of concrete.

Now that Rudenko has completed his first 3D printed concrete structure, he wants to create an entire home this way.
