Interns – Manufacturing Engineering Savage, MN

Purpose/Scope:  Fabcon is seeking two Manufacturing Engineering Interns for our Savage, MN location to update and develop Visual Production Process Standard Work of existing and new processes.  Open to starting part-time allowing for candidates’ work schedule to be flexible around their classes at college.  Selected candidates could work part-time during school year and full time during summer break.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop Visual Standard work for the production. Follow through until reviewed, approved and released
  • Data collection for problem solving and new process development.
  • Analyze technical problems related to the development of new or existing products or processes and recommend solutions
  • Test and evaluate products, or processes and implement changes to improve performance and reliability
  • Work with cross-functional team members, providing engineering support to resolve technical problems
  • Participate in Lean related activities
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline at an accredited college or university
  • Must have one year experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Project, Powerpoint, and Outlook
  • Attentive to detail and quality oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and enthusiasm
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, integrity, and willingness to interact as a team player, and take independent initiative
  • Completed college sophomore level
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb up and down while on moving equipment
Work Environment:
  • Plant environment
  • Both inside and outside exposure
